Show heap status in eclipse
Under Window > Preferences go to General and on the right, click the check box for Show Heap Status.
Now at the bottom of Eclipse, you can click the trash can to clean up your heap or memory. I'm not quite sure what it does, but it frees up some memory if you're getting out of memory exceptions. Something like PermGen.
