How to setup vimplugin in eclipse

Add the vimplugin site in Eclipse.

http://vimplugin.org/installation »

After installing vimplugin.org in eclipse, you have to go to Window > Preferences > Vimplugin and point to your gvim » extecutable. Then go to Window > Preferences > Editors > File_Associations and add the file extension if it doesn't exist. Then below that for associated editors, add Vim and then click the default button to move it to the top. Then your files should open in gvim.

This plugin just embeds gvim in Eclipse.

I actually prefer http://www.viplugin.com » which emulates vim inside Eclipse so you can still see errors, info, todo and other things in the small bar to the left of the editing window. When you embed gvim, you don't get the Eclipse debugging features. It's a catch 22.
